Questions about placing baby up for adoption

HOW CAN I CARRY A BABY FOR 9 MONTHS AND GIVE IT AWAY?
That’s a tough question. There is no single, easy answer. Choosing adoption means you’ve chosen life and you can still be active in your child’s life through open adoption.

Is it too late for me to make an adoption plan for my baby?
You can make an adoption plan for your child at any point during your pregnancy, or even after birth. Reach out to us to discuss your unique circumstances and plans for your baby.

HOW MUCH CONTACT CAN I HAVE WITH MY BABY FOLLOWING THE BIRTH AND ADOPTION?
Following the birth, you can hold your baby for as long as you choose. After your baby goes home with the adoptive family, you can receive pictures, letters, videos, and even arrange special visits in accordance with the adoption plan you choose. The adoptive parents will know of your wishes in advance and graciously respect your privacy as well as your need to know your child is loved and cared for.

HOW CAN I ASSURE MY BABY WILL BE WELL CARED FOR?
Our adoptive families are carefully screened and have met every standard set by the state as well as Choosing Hope Adoptions.

HOW SOON AFTER THE BIRTH WILL MY BABY GO TO THE PARENTS I CHOOSE?
The timing of your child’s placement depends on your choices. Most mothers desire their baby to be placed directly from the hospital with adoptive parents for bonding to begin.

DO I NEED A LAWYER OR NEED TO PAY FOR ASSISTANCE WITH ADOPTION?
All legal counsel will be provided to you and the biological father. Our services are free to you. Your legal and medical fees will be provided for after the adoption takes place.

CAN I RECEIVE HELP WITH MEDICAL AND LIVING EXPENSES WHILE I’M MAKING AN ADOPTION PLAN?
After the child has been placed with the adopted family, Choosing Hope Adoption will cover all of your medical expenses pertaining to the labor and delivery. The state of Ohio also allows us to help with up to $3000 in living expenses to parents who makes an adoption plan for their child.
