Mental Health is Just as Important as Physical Health

We all know there can be a stigma around discussing your mental health in our society today. It can feel as though if you don’t have something positive to say, you just shouldn’t say anything at all. Even if it’s about yourself. Feeling this way can be lonely and dangerous, especially when you’re bringing a child into this world.

At Choosing Hope Adoption Agency, we are working to be a part of the change in stigma around mental health.

We are glad to see our world is slowly starting to open their eyes and have conversations around the importance of mental health. This includes how important it is to allow people to share their stories, find resources when they are struggling, and to not be penalized for having struggles in mental health.

The mental health of both our expectant moms and birth moms is just as important to us as their physical health. In a world where mental health struggles may be hushed, our offices are open to you to discuss and find resources for any struggles you may be facing.

In our efforts to support mothers on every level as they walk through the adoption process, we offer many services that go beyond their pregnancy and physical health by addressing the mental health of mothers, as well.

24/7 Call or Text Support Line

We are available to you at all times of the day. Our call or text line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This means that at any moment if you feel you are struggling, have questions, or are in need of resources, we are just a phone call or text away.

It is extremely important to us to be available for anyone who may need support.

Meet with a Parent Advocate

Our parent advocates spend time listening to your hopes and concerns as an expecting mom or birthmom. These times together are often done over a cup coffee, on zoom, in our offices, or even for a walk in a park. Our advocates are here to help you process your decision to parent or make an adoption plan. They connect you to resources such as housing, jobs, and childcare.

One-on-One Counseling

One of our main goals is to help resource mothers in any needs they may have. While we do not provide one-on-one counseling in our offices, we have partnerships with many professional counselors who have supported many mother’s within our agency.

We know that every step of the adoption process can be emotional and having a safe place to process all that your feeling is so important.

Peer Support Groups

Our adoption agency serves residents of Columbus, Cincinnati, Springfield, and more, hosting peer support groups and helping people connect with communities around them. These groups are a space for mothers to form relationships with others who have walked through the same trials and victories that they have.

We know that hearing other’s stories can be so powerful in knowing that you are not alone in your life experiences.

Personalized Help Every Step of the Way

To ensure our moms are taken care of, we strive to form relationships with everyone within our Adoption Agency. We will walk you through each step of the adoption process in a way that is personalized for you.

We want to meet the needs you have mentally and emotionally as well as physically throughout pregnancy and after birth.

It is our greatest hope that we can support you with guidance and resources for you to be healthy, mentally and physically as you walk through or consider adoption.
